Battle of the Books

America's Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3-12. The purpose is simply to encourage students to read good books and have fun while competing with peers. This year, the competition will be held for 3rd-4th graders and 5th graders. Each team can have up to 7 members made up of students from those grade levels. It is the requirement of each team member that they agree to read a number of books on the list. We will have most of these titles at Coretta Scott King and the local libraries have them as well. The student becomes the expert on the books he/she reads. As part of the team, he/she answers questions only about those books at the competition.

Each student is required to complete a graphic organizer and make up 5 questions about their book. Graphic Organizer
